Is Upgrading to a 9070 XT Worth It with My R5 3600?

I'm considering an upgrade for my gaming setup, which is around five years old. Currently, I have a 5700 XT, 16 GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM, and a R5 3600 processor on a B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard. My power supply is 650W, but I can upgrade if necessary. I usually game at 1440p. I'm wondering if the 9070 XT would be a good fit or if I should hold off and wait for ram prices to come down and build a new system later. I've looked into CPU upgrades, and the 5700X3D is priced over 400 euros, while the 5700X is about 160 euros—just not sure if that's worth it. Any advice on this upgrade or suggestions for alternatives would be great!

Honestly, I'd say the 9070 XT would be alright with CPUs like the 5600, 5600X, and others. The 3600 might fall short in some games though, leading to a bottleneck.

There's a 5600X available for 117 euros right now; is that a good deal?

Yeah, this upgrade would definitely work decently! You won't have a major CPU bottleneck, which is good news. Just keep in mind that while it won't unleash the full potential of the 9070 XT, it'll still be a significant jump from your 5700 XT for 1440p gaming!

I'm mainly going to play Apex and other AAA titles, so sounds promising!

It'll definitely work for sure! While you may not squeeze out the max performance possible, moving to the 9070 XT will still be a huge upgrade over the 5700 XT, especially at 1440p. Also, consider that a 5600 would be a nice step up from a 3600.

Prices seem decent—5600 is 114 euros here while the 5600X is at 117. Thinking of picking one up!

If you're using that CPU and motherboard, I'd suggest looking at something like the 9060 with 16GB of RAM. It'll handle 1440p just fine.

I’ll definitely look into that option!
