I'm curious about upgrading my current AM4 setup, which consists of a Ryzen 3600, a GIGABYTE RTX 2070 Super, and 16GB of HyperX DDR4 RAM at 2666MHz. I mainly play AAA single-player games and some esports titles like Dota 2, but I'm not getting great frame rates at max settings—usually below 100fps. Considering that RAM prices are high right now, I can spend a couple of hundred dollars for an upgrade, but I'm unsure if the Ryzen 7 5700X is worth it or if I should hold off and build an AM5 system later. Will moving to the 5700X significantly improve my gaming experience?

Upgrading to the 5700X will definitely yield better performance, especially in CPU-heavy games. However, if you're looking for an even better option, the 5500X3D might be a great choice too. Just keep an eye on prices before you commit!
Just a heads up, I've heard good things about szcpu on Aliexpress—it might be worth checking out for decent prices!
The performance increase is typically about 20-25% in CPU-limited games, which includes a lot of esports titles. However, don't forget to tweak your RAM settings! Upgrading from 2666MHz to 3200MHz with some adjustments can lead to around a 10% performance boost in those games. Here's a guide you can follow: https://github.com/integralfx/MemTestHelper/blob/oc-guide/DDR4%20OC%20Guide.md
I tried to overclock my RAM too but only got it to 3000MHz with XMP in the BIOS. I'll check out that guide for sure, thanks!
I upgraded from a 2700X to a 5700X a few months back, and I can say that it's definitely worth the investment. The performance boost is noticeable, particularly in demanding scenarios.
If you're mainly gaming, the 5500X3D could offer you the best performance for your buck. Don't forget to overclock your RAM to at least 3200MHz! Your setup is still solid for 1080p gaming and can handle some 1440p, especially with DLSS to help with performance in heavier games.

Are the ones listed on Aliexpress genuine? I'm a bit skeptical about buying processors from there.
