Is Upgrading to CL30 RAM Worth It for Gaming?

I'm currently using Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5-6000 CL36 RAM (2x16GB, totaling 32GB) for gaming, primarily FPS titles at 1440p like Warzone and Valorant, along with some Photoshop and light video editing. I have plans to upgrade my GPU soon, possibly to a 4090 or 5090, and I want to ensure my RAM won't be a bottleneck. Would it make sense to upgrade from CL36 to CL30 RAM for better future-proofing and stability with high-end graphics cards, or is the performance difference negligible enough that I should just stick with my current RAM?

Honestly, it’s probably not worth the upgrade. You’re looking at only a 1-2% performance increase at best, which is pretty minimal, especially for games.

Upgrading to CL30 is usually a worthwhile investment if the price difference is tiny. However, if you already have CL36, it might not be necessary unless you're also looking to increase your RAM capacity at the same time.

Exactly! If you're going for more capacity, then upgrading the timings makes sense.

I'd say it depends on the cost. If you can sell your current RAM for a decent price and the new ones aren't ridiculously priced, maybe consider it. But RAM prices are pretty inflated right now, so keep that in mind.
