Issues Launching Azure Virtual Desktop After Password Change

Hey everyone,

I've got a setup with Azure Virtual Desktop where users are meant to connect through the new Windows App to their personal desktops. Generally, it works great for most, but a small group is having trouble launching their sessions. They receive an error that began immediately after they reset their Active Directory passwords due to expiration.

Here's what I know: The AD sync is functioning correctly, users can log in fine using the web app, and I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Windows App, repairing it, and clearing caches.

I'm curious if anyone here has faced a similar issue, particularly if it started right after a password reset. I'm considering factors like cached Kerberos tickets, possible token issues with the app, or any recent updates that might have disrupted functionality. Any help, logs to check, or workarounds you can suggest would be greatly appreciated!

We’re facing the same problem at our organization! Our Microsoft representative is set to give us updates this Friday. Hopefully, they’ll provide useful solutions or explain what’s going on.

Looks like Microsoft acknowledged this issue, suggesting users switch to either RDP or the web client for now. Check out their status page for more details. This could be a temporary solution while they work on a fix.

I heard that installing the update KB5077744 might resolve the problem with the Windows App. It's currently under testing and should roll out via Windows Updates soon, though I can’t guarantee it won’t cause other issues.
