I'm having a strange issue where my PC only powers on if I hold down the BIOS flashback key while pressing the power button. However, nothing shows up on the monitor, and the moment I let go of the BIOS flashback key, the system shuts off. I'm trying to update the BIOS because I just installed a 9800X3D, and my motherboard needs an update to work with it. Can anyone help?

It sounds like you're dealing with a pretty frustrating issue! When you power on while holding the BIOS flashback key, the monitor should ideally show some response. Since it just goes into standby mode, try checking the connection between the monitor and the PC—you might want to reseat the display cables. Also, ensure that the monitor is set to the correct input. Have you had any success before with the BIOS flashback feature?
From what you’ve described, it seems like the power isn't reaching your parts correctly. Since the PC responds while holding the flashback key but shuts off otherwise, it might be worth testing your RAM or even checking if the motherboard is getting enough power from the PSU. A BIOS update can sometimes be touchy, especially with newer CPUs; maybe double-check the compatibility.
