Issues with NVIDIA Drivers Causing Input Device Failure on ASUS TUF Gaming A15

I'm experiencing a frustrating problem with my ASUS TUF Gaming A15 (model FA506IH) while dual-booting Windows and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Whenever I load any NVIDIA proprietary driver (I've tried versions 535, 550, and 570), all my input devices stop working completely right after booting up. This includes my internal keyboard, touchpad, and external USB mouse. Once this happens, I'm stuck at the lock screen and can't do anything at all. The only way to resolve it is to boot into recovery mode and uninstall the NVIDIA drivers, after which my system runs fine on just the AMD integrated GPU. I've tried various kernel versions, different modprobe options, and even some advanced kernel parameters, but nothing seems to help. Has anyone else dealt with this issue on the FA506IH or FA566IH models? I really need to use the NVIDIA GPU for some simulations, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked if you can extract logs somehow? Maybe set up a systemd service to save dmesg output to a file for you. Also, have you thought about live booting with another distro that already has NVIDIA drivers? It sounds like you've done some serious debugging already. Just to clarify, when you say "after boot," where exactly do the input devices stop working? Do they work before you reach the login screen?

Honestly, Ubuntu 24.04 might be too old for proper NVIDIA driver support, especially with newer GPUs. I’d recommend updating to Ubuntu 25.10 and give the 595.xx driver a shot. Your GTX 1650 should have much better compatibility with that setup!
