Issues with QuickBooks 2023 Enterprise After Recent Update

Has anyone else come across an unrecoverable error when trying to send invoices in QuickBooks 2023 Enterprise after the recent updates? I've had multiple clients reporting this issue since last Friday. I spent a significant amount of time with QuickBooks support, and they managed to resolve it temporarily by reinstalling the base version. This involved uninstalling any specialized versions first and then reconverting to the base install. Simply uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help on its own. Unfortunately, today I'm back to square one with clients experiencing the same problem. I noticed automatic updates were applied last night at 2 AM, and all affected clients are running the 2023 Enterprise version. Is it possible that a faulty update was pushed out?

Are you still in touch with QuickBooks support for a more permanent fix? This issue is becoming quite a hassle for us too.

Make sure your Mailto link provider in Windows is set to Outlook Classic rather than New Outlook. I've seen this fix the issue for some people using QuickBooks 2023 and 2024. If it's working for some but not all, it may be an isolated issue with the software updates.

I checked, and it's already set to Classic, but unfortunately, it didn’t help. All three clients I'm dealing with are getting error messages related to access violations, and it seems like the problem started right after those updates.

It sounds like a bad update was likely pushed. If your fix worked for a bit and then broke again after the recent updates, it's a good idea to disable automatic updates for now. Reach out to QuickBooks support again and let them know that several clients are affected; they need to address this issue quickly.

We've had a number of clients with the same problem over the past few days. Switching to Outlook Classic worked for some, but others still have the error. It's definitely an ongoing issue.
