My Kingston NV2 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive causes the entire computer to power off whenever I write data to it. Copying files from the NVMe drive to another drive works normally, but copying files onto it, moving files within it, downloading directly to it, or even deleting files from it can trigger the shutdown. I also moved the drive to the motherboard's second M.2 slot, but the behavior stayed the same. The official service center returned it marked "tested OK" with no defect found. Once I get it back, I plan to repeat write-stress tests and try the drive in another computer. Could the SSD still be faulty, or is a separate component such as the power supply, motherboard, or storage controller more likely responsible? The system uses an Aorus B550 Elite motherboard, Ryzen 7 5800X3D, 32 GB DDR4-3200 memory, RTX 4070 Ti Super graphics, and a Seasonic G12 GC-750 power supply.

A complete loss of power is more serious than a normal application crash. If the machine really powers off instead of rebooting or showing a blue screen, the system may be triggering hardware protection—possibly from the SSD, motherboard, or power delivery. Since changing M.2 slots did not help, testing the drive in another PC is a good next step. Also check whether the other system shuts down only during writes.
The fact that reads work but writes, deletes, and downloads cause shutdowns does make the NVMe drive suspicious, even though the service center reported no fault. Reproduce the problem with a recorded stress test if possible, and test with another known-good SSD in the same slot. That comparison should help distinguish a defective drive from a motherboard or power-supply issue.

It does not restart by itself. It stays completely dead, and I have to switch the power supply off and back on before the PC will start again.
