Laptop randomly enters sleep mode during games and videos

My Acer Nitro v15 laptop, with 1 TB of storage and an RTX 4090, has been randomly entering sleep mode while I'm gaming, watching YouTube, or drawing. It doesn't show a blue screen or perform a full shutdownโ€”it simply goes to sleep, and it takes about a minute to wake up again. This has happened since I bought it less than a year ago. I already tried disabling hibernation, but that didn't help. What should I check to find the cause?

Since this has happened from the beginning and occurs under different kinds of use, I wouldnโ€™t spend too long uninstalling random programs. If Event Viewer and a clean installation donโ€™t reveal anything, contact the seller or manufacturer for an RMA while itโ€™s still covered.

Thereโ€™s probably a specific trigger even if Windows isnโ€™t showing an obvious error. Check the Event Viewer around the exact time it happens, especially the System log, for power-related events or unexpected sleep entries. Also make sure the power button, lid-close action, and sleep settings arenโ€™t being triggered accidentally.

Try a clean Windows installation or the manufacturerโ€™s recovery image to rule out a software or driver issue. Back up your files first, and reinstall the chipset, graphics, and power-management drivers afterward. If it still happens on a clean system, the laptop is likely defective and should be returned or sent in under warranty.
