Laptop Trouble: Frequent High Ping in Games After Windows Update

Hey everyone, I'm having some serious issues with my laptop after a recent Windows update. It went straight to a blue screen and wouldn't even boot into the BIOS. The only solution I found was to delete Windows and do a full reinstall. However, now I'm running into a new problem: whenever I try to play games like R6S, Barotrauma, or GTA V Online, my ping skyrockets to 10,000, and I keep getting kicked out. I've tried using different Wi-Fi networks and even mobile data, but nothing seems to help. Any advice?

It sounds frustrating! Have you checked to see if you can access the Minidump files from your laptop? These are crash logs that can help diagnose the BSOD issue. If you can boot into Windows or Safe Mode, look for C:WindowsMinidump and see if there are any files there. You can zip them up and upload them to a file-sharing site for further analysis. It's really helpful to have multiple dump files if possible. If you need help with this, I can guide you on how to adjust your settings to create these files!

That sounds rough! It’s especially annoying when it happens in the middle of a game, right? Have you tried resetting your network settings as well? It might help with the ping issue. Sometimes, a clean slate fixes unexpected connection problems. Just be sure to note your settings before changing anything!
