Laptop Turns On for a Few Seconds Then Shuts Off—Need Help Troubleshooting

I'm having a hardware issue with my laptop and could use some troubleshooting advice. After my Acer Nitro 5 fully discharged, it stopped booting when I plugged it back in. When I hit the power button, the power LED lights up for about 4 to 5 seconds, and then it just shuts down. There's no display, the keyboard backlight doesn't light up, and the screen remains black. The charging LED stays on while it's connected. I've already tried charging for an hour, doing a long power drain by holding the power button without the charger, and disconnecting all external devices, but nothing has worked. I even attempted using an external display. This all started right after the laptop drained completely, and there doesn't seem to be any liquid damage or physical impact. Any ideas on what might be causing this? I'm particularly interested in issues like RAM detection failure or possible BIOS lockups.

I wouldn't recommend Acer products again, honestly. They have a lot of reliability issues. But for now, see if you can do a BIOS recovery if that's what caused it!

What happened to you? Did you face a similar problem?

Honestly, I've had quite a few problems with Acer laptops in the past. Once they break, they can be a nightmare. If you're comfortable with it, try opening your laptop and disconnecting the battery for a moment, then reconnecting it. You might find a disassembly guide online that works for your model.

So just unplugging the battery could actually help? Seems risky!

Sounds like you might have hit a problematic BIOS update. A lot of Acer laptops were bricked by recent updates. You could check out this link for a fix that helped a lot of other users: [link](https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/comment/1372334?utm_source=community-share#Comment_1372334)
