I usually charge my iPhone from one of the USB-C ports on my laptop. Yesterday, I accidentally left the laptop running until its battery completely died. Since then, neither USB-C port will charge the phone. I tried two different cables, checked the available settings, and disabled battery-saving options, but nothing helped. In Device Manager, the USB devices already show as enabled. Could the complete battery drain have disabled USB power delivery, and what should I try next?

The port may be working normally but not providing charging power under the laptop’s current power state. Check the laptop manufacturer’s power-management or USB settings, and look for an option related to charging devices while the laptop is asleep or powered off. You can also test the phone with a wall charger to confirm the phone and cables are okay. USB selective suspend is worth checking, but it may not be available on every system and it is not guaranteed to fix a hardware or firmware power-delivery issue.
Since both cables and both laptop ports have been tested, try a complete shutdown rather than sleep or a normal restart. Turn the laptop off, disconnect its charger and any accessories, wait a minute or two, then connect the charger and start it again. A full power reset can restore USB-C power delivery after the battery has been completely drained.
The USB entries in Device Manager were already enabled, so I’ll try a full shutdown and power reset next.
I checked the power-saving settings already, and the USB devices appear enabled. I’ll also verify that the phone charges normally from a wall adapter.
