A spark on the display connector can short a power rail or damage motherboard components. Since there’s no charging light at all, this likely goes beyond just the screen and needs board-level diagnosis. A repair shop is the safest option, especially because laptop motherboard layouts vary a lot.
Before writing it off, disconnect both the battery and charger, then hold the power button for around 30 seconds to discharge the system. Check the display connector carefully for bent pins or debris, reconnect it securely, and make sure the bottom cover is installed if the laptop has a lid-interlock sensor. If it still shows no LEDs, stop testing and have the board inspected.
The display circuit can carry enough power to cause serious damage when the cable is connected live. It may have blown a fuse, power-management component, or even the processor. A multimeter can help a technician locate a short, but probing random points without the board schematic could make things worse, so compare the repair cost with the value of the laptop before replacing the motherboard or screen.
