League of Legends Drops to 3 FPS After NVIDIA Driver Update

After installing the latest NVIDIA driver, League of Legends suddenly drops to about 3 FPS whenever I enter a match. The game ran normally before the update. I've assigned the high-performance GPU to both the client and the game, lowered the graphics settings almost completely, and reinstalled the game and Vanguard several times, but nothing has helped. Interestingly, switching out of the game and back briefly shows 30–40 FPS before it falls to 3 FPS again. The game also initially showed a VAN 57 Vanguard error, which I resolved through Windows Services. Could the new driver be causing this, and should I roll back or clean-install an older version?

Since the problem started immediately after the NVIDIA update, the driver is the most likely cause. Reinstalling the game usually won’t fix a graphics-driver issue. Try rolling back to the previous driver, or download an older stable version from NVIDIA and install it using the clean-install option. If a normal rollback doesn’t work, removing the current driver completely with a display-driver cleanup tool before installing the older version may help.

I’m not sure which driver version I had before this one. I reinstalled the current driver several times but the FPS problem remains. Is there a recent version that’s generally considered stable?
