My Lenovo computer's letter keys have stopped working, but the number keys still work. Because I can't type letters, I'm unable to sign in. I've already tried connecting a USB keyboard, but it has the same problem. I'm willing to try any troubleshooting steps that might get the keyboard working again.

If a USB keyboard behaves the same way, the problem may not be limited to the built-in keyboard. Check whether any key is physically stuck or being held down, and look for signs of liquid damage. If the issue continues, try entering the computer’s BIOS or startup menu—if letters work there, it may be a Windows or driver problem; if they still fail, hardware or firmware is more likely.
A stuck key or keyboard-related fault could be interfering with letter input. Carefully inspect and clean around the keys, then restart the laptop completely. If both the built-in and USB keyboards have identical symptoms, the laptop may need repair rather than just a keyboard replacement.
