I recently made the switch from Windows to Linux Mint, but I'm facing high CPU usage, especially while watching HD videos. I'm looking for a lightweight Linux distribution that's easy for beginners and can handle some lightweight gaming (like running Steam). Here are my system specifications: I'm using an Intel Core i3-6006U dual-core CPU with 4 GiB of RAM and the integrated Intel GPU. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Maybe try a lighter desktop environment like Xfce. You can either use the Xfce version of Linux Mint or install Xfce on your existing setup while removing Cinnamon. That might help reduce CPU load. It’s also worth checking if your integrated GPU is functioning properly, as that can affect performance too.
You should consider switching to Linux Mint with the Xfce desktop environment. Alternatively, MX Linux and Lubuntu are also great options for lightweight performance without sacrificing too much functionality. They can significantly improve your experience, especially with HD video playback.

Yes, my integrated GPU is indeed running.
