Looking for a Linux Distro That's Light on Resources

I recently made the switch from Windows to Linux Mint, but I'm facing high CPU usage, especially while watching HD videos. I'm looking for a lightweight Linux distribution that's easy for beginners and can handle some lightweight gaming (like running Steam). Here are my system specifications: I'm using an Intel Core i3-6006U dual-core CPU with 4 GiB of RAM and the integrated Intel GPU. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

You should consider switching to Linux Mint with the Xfce desktop environment. Alternatively, MX Linux and Lubuntu are also great options for lightweight performance without sacrificing too much functionality. They can significantly improve your experience, especially with HD video playback.
