I currently play these games on my HP Victus laptop with decent frame rates, but I'm looking to see if this new desktop setup will provide significantly better performance. For your case, I'd actually suggest an Arctic Liquid Freezer III (360mm). It’s an excellent cooler that can handle your workload smoothly. I prefer air coolers typically, but for this particular build, a good AIO might just provide the cooling performance you need without the hassle.
The low-profile coolers like the Noctua are generally okay for lightweight builds, but they do fall short on performance compared to tower coolers or AIOs. Since you have an mATX case, check if a tower cooler will fit. If it does, consider something like a Thermalright dual-tower cooler. You'll notice a big difference in temperatures, especially with your high-end CPU.
You might want to reconsider the Noctua NH-L9x65. While it's a low-profile cooler and may fit your mATX case, it can be quite loud and might lead to thermal throttling on your CPU. I'd recommend returning it and opting for a larger AIO cooler like a 240mm or 360mm model from Thermalright instead. They’re quieter and better at keeping your CPU cool, especially considering you’ve got the powerful 7800X3D chip.
