Hey everyone! I'm on the hunt for a simple backup solution for my Hyper-V server that runs two Windows VMs crucial for my core infrastructure, like Active Directory and others. I need something that's lightweight and can back up directly to Azure storage using an agent. I'm not looking to get overwhelmed with complexity like I've heard about Veeam—just something straightforward. Thanks in advance!

It took me less than an hour to set up Veeam for backing up my Hyper-V VMs, and I didn’t even read the manuals. It’s really straightforward! If Veeam seems too much, you might end up having a tough time with any other solution.

Have you looked into Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud? It supports Hyper-V and can back up directly to Azure. Plus, it usually has a lower monthly fee and is available through various MSP partners.

But honestly, if you’re dealing with virtualization, using image-level backups should be your go-to. Relying solely on in-guest agent-based backups can lead to complications. Better to go for image-level backups as the default.

CloudExplorer21: I agree! Veeam can be simple once you get it set up. There are tons of walkthrough videos out there to guide you through every step, so it might not be as tough as you think.
