Looking for Budget-Friendly PC Upgrade Ideas (Everything Except CPU)

I'm looking to upgrade my PC since I'm facing issues with my RAM and my CPU is quite outdated. Here's what I currently have: an i7 8700, MSI B360 motherboard, 16GB RAM, a 250GB M.2 SSD, a 2TB HDD, and a 3070 GPU. I want to upgrade my case, PSU, motherboard, RAM, and SSD. I do some gaming and also work on video editing, so I'd love to get the best bang for my buck. My budget is around $650, but I can stretch it a little if needed. Any suggestions?

I agree with the other suggestions. Upgrading to that Ryzen CPU will vastly improve performance compared to your current setup, and it's definitely time for an upgrade since the i7-8700 is pretty much ancient by now!

The components suggested are great, but don't forget to plan ahead for the CPU upgrade! Your i7-8700 is getting pretty old and might bottleneck newer GPUs. If you consider upgrading the CPU later on, that's something to keep in mind!

Oh, my bad! I meant to say everything except the GPU. Thanks for the heads up!

I put together a solid build you might like! Here's a breakdown:

- **AMD Ryzen 5 7600X** for around $170
- **Thermalright CPU Cooler** to keep it cool at about $18.59
- **MSI PRO B650M Motherboard** for $129.99
- **32GB DDR5 Memory** for about $82.97
- **1TB M.2 NVMe SSD** for $58.49
- **Cooler Master Mini Tower Case** at $39.99
- **850W Fully Modular PSU** for $89.90

This total comes to about $589.93, which keeps you under budget and ready for whatever games or projects come your way!

Wow... almost a whole PC built for just under $600. Impressive! Just a note, if you ever need to upgrade the GPU, that could really hike up the costs.

Wow, thank you! I'll definitely look into these options.
