I've realized that Apple seems to charge a lot for their products, especially the AirPods, which only seem to last about three years. I'm on the hunt for some solid alternatives that provide great sound quality without breaking the bank. Any recommendations?

If we're talking cost vs. production cost, they might be a bit high, but for the quality, it seems reasonable for a smaller company. I use Status earbuds that have a crazy 12-hour battery life. Their sound quality is impressive, and the unique microphone array really shines for calls. I've had mine for years now without any issues. They aren't AirPods but have held up great!
I've been using Soundcore Liberty 4 NC earbuds for a few years and think they're pretty good. I got mine for $100 two years ago, and now they're down to about $55. Can't say they're better than AirPods, but they work well for me!
I don't think they overcharge, honestly. I've had my AirPods Pro for six years, and I recently got the AirPods Pro 2. I also tried the Sony WF-1000XM4 and XM5, which have better noise cancellation but come at a much higher price. Word is, the upcoming AirPods Pro 3 will even outdo the Sonys in that department. If you've got an iPhone or Mac, the AirPods work really well together, but I'd pass if you're using something else.
If you're already in the Apple ecosystem, I really suggest considering the AirPods Pro. They have great sound quality and noise cancellation. The transparency mode is also top-notch. While Apple products can be pricey, I think they're worth it—especially if you can find a good deal on the AirPods Pro 2, which are still excellent even if they’re last generation.
I've used both AirPods Pro 2 and the regular AirPods, plus a bunch of other brands. Honestly, I believe Apple products are usually worth the price due to their quality.
Totally agree on the AirPods Pro 2! If you're looking to save a bit, they're a solid option.
