I'm on the hunt for a budget gaming PC, ideally costing between $800 and $900. My primary focus will be on playing FPS games and maybe 2K26. I already have a keyboard and mouse, but if you have any recommendations for a monitor, I'd appreciate that, though my main budget is just for the PC parts.

I recently built a great setup for about $837! Check it out here: [PCPartPicker List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QbYmt3). I don’t have a monitor suggestion since I’m just using an old one I had, but the build works really well for gaming!
Honestly, with a $900 budget, you have plenty of options! I’d recommend going for an AM5 processor and motherboard to stay future-proof. You can fit a Ryzen 5 9600X and a Radeon RX 9060 XT in that budget, which will give you room for upgrades later. Just make sure to pick a motherboard that supports Gen 5 PCIe!
I totally agree! Avoid the AM4 chipset if you can. With the right setup, you can easily get a solid build under that $900 cap.
Just remember to consider your power supply and case size! Make sure everything fits and is compatible to avoid any last-minute issues.
The key is to choose a GPU that fits your gaming style, then build around that. For your FPS games, the RX 9060 XT should be a solid choice.

And don't worry about Gen 5 drives unless you're really keen on the latest tech. For gaming, a good Gen 4 SSD is more than sufficient!
