Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a new computer since my old one has been chugging along for 7 years but is finally starting to give out. I really don't know much about electronics, and I'm looking for a 2-in-1 device that can function as both a tablet and a laptop. My budget is between $250 and $450, and if I could spend less, that would be great! I'd love to hear any recommendations you have. Thanks a lot!

I've mainly built my own stationary PCs, but I've also had some luck with HP laptops. For example, I personally use the HP Spectre x360, but it’s pretty pricey. For something more budget-friendly, I got a refurbished HP Chromebook x360 for around $280 as a gift for my niece. It’s versatile for handling different tasks and can be used as a tablet, which is great! But I'd really need more details about what you use your old laptop for — what programs do you want to keep using? If you're just playing games like Sims or Webkinz, a Chromebook could be a good fit if it supports those tasks, just make sure to check the specs!
You should check out Wirecutter; they have really detailed reviews for all kinds of computers. They cover different price ranges and specifications to help narrow it down to what fits your needs!
Awesome! Thank you, internet stranger 🙂

Right now, I’m on an HP laptop from 2017, so it’s pretty outdated. I enjoy playing Sims and Webkinz, but the fan gets super loud and hot after a couple of hours, which makes me worried. Just want something reliable!
