Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing well! I'm currently looking for suggestions on a solid CPU with 8 or more cores, especially since some newer games like Doom: The Dark Ages and Borderlands 4 seem to be requiring that. I recently picked up the 7600x, but I'm considering skipping AM6 and waiting for AM7 for my next upgrade. Ideally, I'd like to aim for one of the high-end X3D CPUs in the AM5 lineup. If you're serious about skipping AM6, I think it's best to hold off on buying a high-end AM5 for now. Rumor has it that AM5 will get two more generations, so today's X3D might not be the top choice by the time you're ready to upgrade.
Those games may say they need 8 cores, but I'd suggest trying them on your 7600x first. I bet they'll run just fine on your current setup!
I think you're right! Still, I'm aiming to upgrade to a stronger AM5 CPU eventually.
