Hi there! I'm seeking recommendations for a smartwatch for my grandmother. She's been feeling less stable on her feet and the home emergency bracelet she currently uses isn't very reliable. I'm hoping to find a watch that includes an integrated emergency call feature and has reliable fall detection. Additionally, it should be waterproof enough to handle a shower. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Make sure to consider whether she'll remember to charge it regularly. While there are great smart devices out there, managing multiple chargers can be a hassle for some elderly folks. If she can handle it, then a smartwatch could definitely work!
Consider investing in a reliable life alert system if safety is a major concern. Although smartwatches can be great, they often require more from elderly users. A life alert is straightforward and typically comes with monthly monitoring, which can be a safer option overall.
She had a bracelet from the German Red Cross, but it didn't work well, which is why we want to switch to a smartwatch instead.
If your grandma has a smartphone, that's a plus! For user-friendliness, I'd recommend looking into Apple Watches, as they have an emergency feature that lets her call for help easily. However, keep in mind that they require regular charging and can be pricey. That said, if she's sticking to Android, you might want to check out some Samsung options which can also be user-friendly.
She does have a smartphone, but she's pretty attached to Samsung. We're really looking for options that allow her to save emergency contacts, like family members, instead of just dialing 911.

She’s actually pretty good with modern tech and doesn’t have any memory issues, so charging shouldn't be too much trouble.
