I'm on the hunt for a solid 1TB NVMe SSD that won't break the bank, ideally priced at £50 or less. It's mainly going to be used for gaming, so I'm looking for something reliable and fast. Any recommendations?

The MSI Spatium M470 Pro and the WD Blue SN5000 are both excellent choices within your budget. If you're okay with spending a little more, the Patriot VP4300 Lite is also a fantastic SSD worth considering!
Check out the MSI Spatium M470 Pro; it's available on Amazon for around £48. It’s a great deal for the price! If you buy through the Amazon app and use the code HELLOAPP25, you can get an extra £10 off. It’s perfect for gaming!
I've heard good things about the legend 900, it might be worth a look as well!
You might want to consider the P3 Plus or NV3, but keep in mind they use QLC NAND. There are better options with TLC-NAND available in that price range, so just be aware of that.
Why are those QLC options so popular here despite the alternatives being better?

That sounds like a solid option!
