Hey everyone! I usually use Windows, but I'm really tired of it and have been hearing good things about Linux. I'd love to know more about the different Linux distributions and which ones might be a good fit for me. I work with programming tools like VS Code and would also like to play games on Steam and maybe Epic Games, since I have some purchased and free games there. I'm looking for something that's easy to get into as a beginner, so I don't struggle too much while adjusting. Thanks in advance for any help!

Let me break it down for you simply, since that’s what beginners need. Here are my top three recommendations: 1) **Kubuntu** - it’s based on Ubuntu but uses the KDE desktop, which is great if you’re coming from Windows but still allows for customization. 2) **Fedora KDE** - similar reasons as Kubuntu. 3) **Linux Mint** - it uses the Cinnamon desktop environment, which is also quite user-friendly for former Windows users. Try one of these first before diving into more options. In fact, why not try all three? Good luck!
You can try any Linux distro by using a USB drive with the ISO image before installing it. For beginners, I'd recommend Linux Mint, Zorin OS, and Fedora KDE as they’re the easiest to use. For gaming, you can use Steam with its Proton compatibility layer. Don't forget to download Heroic as well for Epic Games, GOG, and Patreon games!
You should definitely try Linux Mint! It's simple to install and works well with Steam. Plus, it has a friendly interface that’s perfect for newcomers.
