I'm new to building PCs and considering purchasing a used Dell Precision 5820 workstation. It has a GTX 1080, and I'm planning to upgrade the storage and RAM, plus get a Sceptre 27-inch monitor. I can't find any performance tests for this setup, so I'm unsure if it's a good move. My goal is to run games like Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, and the new Warhammer 40k at decent graphics settings. I'd appreciate any advice on RAM options, monitor choice, or thoughts on my setup in general!

I hear you about budget constraints! If you really want to make this work, consider lowering the monitor resolution to 1080p; that could help boost performance. Even if the workstation is affordable at around €200, there are probably better options out there if you can scout around. Just make sure to later upgrade the GPU if you can—I think that’s key for playing those newer games.

I think this setup might not be the best route. The GTX 1080 is getting dated, especially for demanding games like Cyberpunk 2077. If you're looking at a 27" monitor at 1440p, you're likely to experience some struggles with performance. Plus, Dell workstations have proprietary parts, which can make upgrades a hassle. You might get better performance with a different setup if your budget allows for it.
