I'm planning to build my first PC and could use some guidance on where to begin. I mostly enjoy playing 4x games and city builders, but I'm not sure what specs I should focus on for optimal performance. I've got a budget of around $1000 to $1500, so any advice would be really helpful!

First off, it's great you're deciding to build your own PC! Have you thought about your budget? It can really help narrow down your choices. If you're planning to play city builders, you may not need top-of-the-line hardware since they aren't super demanding. But if you're looking into other games that are more graphics-intensive, that might change things up a bit.

I totally agree! For your budget, I recommend looking at a current-gen graphics card with at least 8GB, like the Nvidia RTX series or maybe something affordable from AMD. That way, you're set for both your main games and some heavier titles!

Since you're based in South Carolina, just check around local stores like Best Buy or browse online for the best deals. Just a heads up, you won't find a Micro Center nearby, but getting parts online often has great sales. And remember to avoid ASRock motherboards; they can have a higher failure rate compared to others.

Definitely! Plus, if you're playing games like Stellaris or Crusader Kings, you'll want solid CPU performance too. So balancing your specs will go a long way, especially with your budget!
