Hey folks! I'm currently setting up a Windows 7 lab for my Computer Science class, and I'm in need of the specific version of the VMware OS Optimization Tool that fully supports Windows 7. This is particularly challenging since all the older versions seem to have been removed from the archives after the Broadcom acquisition and the shift to the Omnissa portal. I'm looking for 'VMwareOSOptimizationTool_b1130_15341744.zip' because the newer versions don't support Windows 7 or require additional frameworks that bloat the setup. If anyone has this version stashed away, I would be super grateful if you could share it or upload it again. Thanks a bunch for helping a teacher out!

I get why you're using Windows 7—those older machines can barely handle anything newer. But just a heads up, if you're doing it for teaching, maybe consider how outdated it is. Windows 10 would generally be better if your hardware could handle it. But I totally understand the constraints you’re facing.
I might have what you're looking for! I’ve got an older version, specifically 'VMwareOSOptimizationTool_b1080.zip,' along with some guides. They should be pretty safe to use—I've always known them to be free downloads. I'll shoot you a DM with the files!

Absolutely, I wish I could use Windows 10! But with the Core 2 Duos and limited RAM, it just wouldn't work during class. Windows 7 really helps keep things moving along smoothly.
