I'm not exactly a PC expert, but I built my PC with a friend back in 2020. I've just moved into a new house where there's no Ethernet connection available for where I want to set up my PC. I'm looking to add a WiFi antenna for the time being until I can run Ethernet to the basement. Any suggestions?

Honestly, you don’t need to overthink it. Just grab the cheapest WiFi antenna from Amazon or wherever you shop. Most of them work fine!
Before you buy anything, ask yourself if you need just an antenna or a whole WiFi adapter. An antenna alone won't help much unless it's connected to a WiFi adapter, so you might need to check if your PC has one already.
I prefer antennas with a magnetic base that can be adjusted easily. These can really help you find the best spot to get a strong signal, especially since things like monitor cases and appliances can block the signal.
Consider getting a PCIe WiFi card instead, with long cables and a stand for the antenna. This way, you can position it in the best spot for receiving a good signal. Avoid USB adapters if you're looking for speed; they tend to be less reliable.
