My ASRock B360m IB-R1 has started acting up, likely due to motherboard issues since I've already swapped out the PSU, RAM, and CMOS. This PC, built around 2018, has begun to shut off during startup. I'm aware that replacements for this specific board are quite costly for the performance it offers. I'm seeking advice on upgrading to a motherboard that offers the same or slightly better performance and will be compatible with my existing components: an Intel Core i5-8400 at 2.80GHz, a GTX 1060 3GB, and DDR4 RAM. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Also, if there's a better forum for this, please let me know!

You're looking for an LGA1151v2 board. So, chipsets like H310, B360, B365, H370, Z370, and Z390 will work well with your Intel chip. Just keep in mind that these boards aren't manufactured anymore, so you'll be hunting for used ones. Don't stress too much about finding the perfect model; just grab something in good condition at a decent price.

Got it! What do you think about something like this MSI Z270 A Pro motherboard? Seems like a decent option!
