I'm considering upgrading my gaming PC because it's been loading new games really slowly lately. Here are my current specs: CPU: Intel Core i7 9700F, Motherboard: Asus TUF B360-Plus Gaming, RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8 GB, and GPU: GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. I'd appreciate any recommendations on what to upgrade first. Thanks in advance!

The 2080 Ti is still a strong GPU and should hold up for a bit longer. I would prioritize upgrading your CPU and motherboard next. Consider moving to the AM5 platform with a Ryzen 7 5700X3D or a similar setup for longevity. You’ve got good options for future-proofing your rig right now!

Just a heads up—make sure to check compatibility when you switch CPUs and motherboards; it's essential for a smooth upgrade!

Absolutely, upgrading RAM is a must! At a minimum, go for 16GB if you don’t have it already. And if your system has been slower, consider reinstalling your OS if you haven't done that in a while. Sometimes, a fresh start can help fix performance issues. Lastly, check if you’re using any old hard drives; moving to an NVMe SSD would be a game changer!

Right on! Although re-installing often is good, having other upgrades in place will do more for speed than just that alone.

First off, it's great to see you're looking to upgrade! Since you're in the UK and open to budget options, I suggest starting with your RAM. Upgrading to at least 16GB (preferably 32GB) of DDR4 RAM will really help your performance. Also, adding an NVMe SSD like the Samsung 980 Pro or WD Black SN850X will significantly reduce load times for your games.

Yeah, I agree! A faster SSD can work wonders, especially if you're still using a traditional hard drive. It could make a big difference in your overall gaming experience.
