Looking to Upgrade My PC on a Budget—Need Advice!

I'm trying to figure out the best way to upgrade my PC without spending too much—I've got around $500 to work with, but I'm open to spending a bit more or less if needed. My frame rates in newer games are really inconsistent and low, even when I run them on medium settings. Here are my current specs:

- CPU: AMD K19 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core
- Motherboard: Asustek G15DK (AM4)
- Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070
- RAM: 16GB Dual DDR4

Honestly, I'm not very tech-savvy, so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

The GPU upgrade is important, but don't overlook your RAM. Adding another 16GB would really boost performance. If you can stretch your budget to get either a 5060ti16 or a used 5070 or 9060xt, that would be ideal. It's more about the GPU for now, but more RAM helps too!

It sounds like you really need to upgrade your GPU. Models like the RX 9060XT or the RTX 5060/ti would be solid choices. They'll definitely help with the frame rate issues you're having in newer games.

You might want to consider selling your current 16GB Dual RAM and getting a 32GB Dual DDR4 setup instead. Also, think about trading your RTX 3070 for a 9060xt 16GB version if you can find a good price.
