Mac Air vs. Mac Pro: Which One Should I Choose for Development?

I'm a developer looking to practice with XCode and also want to run powerful engines like Unity, which my current Windows laptop can't handle. I've decided to get a Mac, but I'm torn between the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. For developers, which model is the better choice?

Honestly, the differences between the Air and Pro aren't huge for basic development tasks. Just make sure to get at least 16GB of RAM, and you'll be good to go!

I code on a Windows laptop with a 4080 and a Mac Mini. I can SSH into my Mac from Windows, which gives me the flexibility of both worlds. But honestly, for what you need, you won't need much more than a Mac for building. Just make sure to have the RAM you need.

I personally use the MacBook Pro for work since its chip supports all my monitors without a hitch. For personal use, I manage just fine with the MacBook Air while keeping the lid closed and relying on external monitors. If you're doing heavy development, especially with multiple applications like debugging tools, the Pro's specs—like 64GB of RAM—are definitely worth considering.
