I've been unable to download the Minecraft Launcher because the Microsoft Store has shown error 0x80073CFE for months. My brother and I think something may have become corrupted when we moved the drives to another computer. I've tried SFC and DISM scans, restarting the PC, and repairing or resetting the Store app without any success. I also followed a tutorial that instructed me to remove some files, and now the Microsoft Store will not open at all. The repair and reset options no longer appear in the app settings either. Is there a way to recover the Store without reinstalling Windows?

Try checking Event Viewer for an error generated when you attempt to open the Store. It might provide a more specific clue about what is failing, although simply double-clicking the Store icon without any response may not generate anything obvious.
Moving an existing Windows installation between different PCs can leave the system and Store components in a broken state, especially if files were manually removed afterward. Back up everyone’s important files first, then consider wiping the affected drive and performing a clean Windows installation. That is a major step, but it can clear out the corruption and usually gives the computer a more stable, faster setup.
Several people use this computer for important things, so I’m worried about losing something. Is there really no less drastic repair option before reinstalling Windows?
I checked, but I didn’t see anything useful. Double-clicking the Store icon currently does nothing at all.
