I have a desktop PC with an NVIDIA RTX 4070 plus integrated graphics. Most of my games use the RTX normally, but Minecraft seems to be running on the integrated GPU, which causes performance problems. I've tried several suggested fixes without success, and I've also used three different Minecraft launchers since building the PC, so I'm wondering whether that could have caused a configuration issue. What's the best way to force Minecraft to use the RTX 4070?

First, check that your monitor cable is plugged directly into the RTX 4070’s HDMI or DisplayPort output, not one of the motherboard’s video ports. On a desktop, connecting the display to the motherboard can make the integrated graphics handle the game.
While Minecraft is running, open Task Manager, switch to the Details tab, and look for javaw.exe. Right-click it and choose Open file location, then add that exact executable under Windows Graphics settings and select the high-performance GPU.
The executable may have a different name or be buried in the launcher’s runtime folder. Adding the game’s launcher to Graphics settings can also help, but make sure the monitor is connected to the RTX card first.
In Windows, go to Settings > System > Display > Graphics. Add Minecraft or the relevant Java executable as a desktop app, select it, choose Options, and set it to High performance. That should assign it to the RTX 4070. If you use multiple launchers, you may need to add the Java executable used by the specific launcher you play through.

I checked Task Manager but javaw.exe isn’t appearing for me. Is there another way to find the correct Java executable?
