I'm using Windows 11 on an HP Victus 15-fb3006ns laptop with a 15.6-inch Full HD display, Ryzen 7 8845HS processor, 16 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD, and an RTX 4050. When I play games for around two hours, the screen begins flashing black. At first it happens roughly every 40 seconds, then the intervals shorten to about 30 seconds and eventually every 5 seconds. The issue is disruptive, although I can continue using the computer after each flicker. What could be causing this, and how can I troubleshoot it?

Try recording the screen while the flickering happens. If the black flashes appear in the recording, the problem is probably related to the GPU, graphics driver, or another hardware component. If the recording looks normal while the physical display flashes, the laptop panel, display cable, or display hardware is more likely at fault. Since this uses an RTX 4050, updating or rolling back the NVIDIA driver is also worth trying, especially because some driver versions have caused similar flickering issues.
Check whether the display hardware is heating up after extended gaming. If you’re using an external monitor, inspect its power adapter and cable, and try another compatible power brick if available. For a laptop, also check the display cable and panel connections, since a heat-related fault can become more frequent after the system has been running for a while.
I tested it, and the flashing does not appear in the recording, so it seems to be limited to the laptop’s display rather than what the GPU is rendering.
