My monitor had been glitching for a few weeks, and eventually stopped displaying anything besides a "no signal found" message. I tried several HDMI cables, but none helped. Connecting the same PC to my TV worked normally, so the computer seems fine. I also noticed that part of the monitor's HDMI connector appeared burned or damaged. I swapped the detachable power cable with one from my printer, but that made no difference. Is it worth replacing the power cable, or is the monitor itself probably beyond repair?

The HDMI input on the monitor was fried. I connected the monitor using a VGA-to-HDMI adapter, and it works again. It’s not the ideal fix, but replacing or repairing the monitor wasn’t worth the cost.
The usual things to check are the video cable, the monitor’s input port, and whether the correct input source is selected. In this case, the burned HDMI connector points strongly to a failed HDMI input. Replacing the power cord won’t repair damage to the monitor’s signal port.
A “no signal” message only confirms that the monitor powers on; it doesn’t prove the HDMI input is working. Since the PC displays normally on a TV and the monitor’s connector is visibly burned, the likely problem is the monitor’s HDMI port or input circuitry. A damaged connector is also a potential fire hazard, so I wouldn’t keep using it that way.
That makes sense. The PC works with the TV, so the issue must be somewhere on the monitor side rather than with the computer.
