Mouse Sensitivity Issues in Games – Need Help!

Hey folks! I've been struggling with a frustrating mouse sensitivity problem for about a week now. I was playing Palia and tinkering with some graphics settings when my mouse suddenly became super fast and laggy. This issue is affecting all my games, although it works fine in Windows. I managed to fix it temporarily by disabling GPU acceleration and turning off fullscreen optimization for windowed games, which made my main games playable again.

However, I'm still experiencing issues in some games, like Fortnite. I've tried everything I could think of, including adjusting game settings, Nvidia settings, mouse settings, changing power modes, resetting my PC, updating drivers, testing different mice, and more. I'm getting really bummed out because I worked hard for this setup and I just want to enjoy my gaming experience without limitations. My PC is just a year old, running Windows 11, with a Ryzen 7 5800x and RTX 4060 ti. The only thing I noticed is that my motherboard is labeled as "power saving" - it's the TUF Gaming B450-Plus II. Do you think that could be the cause of my issues? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your mouse is functioning well in Windows, so it's unlikely a hardware issue. I suspect it might be related to a gaming profile that boosts the DPI for certain applications, leading to the lag when the FPS or refresh rate is too low. You might want to check your mouse software or settings to see if there’s anything adjusting the sensitivity when gaming.

Thanks for the tip! My mouse actually doesn't have any buttons or programs to change the DPI or profiles. I'm considering getting a new one that does, but I'm worried it might just make things worse. What's your take on that?
