So, my 5800X3D just failed, and it's only been 20 days since the warranty expired. I really have no clue what caused it to die. Given the current prices and scarcity for replacements, what would be the best alternative AM4 chip to consider?

Honestly, if you're open to it, consider looking for an AM5 bundle at Microcenter. It might sound pricey, but a replacement for that 5800X3D could cost you more alone. Otherwise, a 5600 or 5700 would be a good, more affordable choice for now.
