My Hard Drive Only Shows Up in Disk Manager—How Do I Fix This?

I'm new to Linux and could really use some help. I have a hard drive that only shows up in Disk Manager but nowhere else on my system. I'm not quite sure how formatting works in Linux, so any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

To get your hard drive to show up properly, it needs a partition table and a filesystem, and you'll need to format it if it hasn’t been done already. Make sure it’s mounted too—it might not happen automatically depending on your setup. Is this a brand new drive or one you’ve used before? Could you share a screenshot from Disk Manager? Knowing your Linux distro will help too, since the process can vary between versions like Mint, Fedora, or Arch.

I'm using Ubuntu, and it appears in the 'Disks' app but not anywhere else. Sorry, I forgot to include screenshots in the original post!
