My HDMI Cable Isn’t Working, What Do I Do?

I'm having a tough time getting my new HDMI cable to work with my Samsung TV. I connected one end to my router (the small Xfinity box) and the other end to the 'HDMI IN 1' port on the back of the TV. When I turn on the TV and try to access the input options, it only lets me select 'TV' or 'Screen Mirroring.' The HDMI options seem to be disabled and unclickable! I just want to watch football this Sunday—anyone know what might be going wrong?

It sounds like your TV might be hiding that input since it’s inactive. Check the settings for an option to reveal hidden inputs. It’s strange it wouldn’t automatically detect the box though. Try unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable from both the box and the TV to reset the connection. Sometimes it helps if it's a newer HDMI cable.

Does it matter which HDMI port I use? Could I try using HDMI 4 instead of 1?
