My MSI G274QPF E2 Monitor Isn’t Recognized Properly—Can’t Set Refresh Rate

I'm having trouble with my MSI G274QPF E2 monitor. In Device Manager, it's showing up as a Generic PNP Monitor, and I've tried updating the drivers, but it's still not working. I have a gaming laptop with a 5080 and a Ryzen 9, so it should be compatible. I'm wondering if I should just return the monitor or if there's something else I can try to get the refresh rate set to 144Hz (or even 180Hz, as advertised). Any advice would be appreciated!

First thing you should do is make sure to install the latest drivers from MSI. I found a driver dated 2024-03-11 on their support page for your monitor, which might fix the issue.

Thanks for the tip! I realized I downloaded the wrong driver version. I grabbed the G274QPF instead of the E2 version, but I'm still having issues trying to set the refresh rate. Switching to a new HDMI cable hasn't helped either. Any suggestions on a better cable?
