Hi everyone, I'm really at my wits' end here. I recently got a new desktop and connected it to my TV using HDMI. The video works fine, but I can't get any sound to come out of the TV despite the volume mixer showing activity and the correct device selected. I used to have my old system connected to the TV, and everything was perfect.
Just to clarify, here's what I've already tried:
- Reinstalled Windows
- Updated both NVIDIA and AMD drivers
- Verified Windows is fully updated
- Tested different HDMI ports on the TV
- Disabled the AMD audio device in Device Manager
- Turned off audio enhancements in sound settings
- Unplugged the TV for a few minutes then plugged it back in
- Factory reset the TV
- Ensured my TV is set as the default audio device
- Reset my PC numerous times and tried different power sequences with the TV.
When I connect my new desktop to my monitor, everything works including the sound. It's just the TV that's giving me trouble. I really appreciate any suggestions you might have!

Have you checked the NVIDIA Control Panel? Go to Display -> Set up digital audio and see if your TV is listed as a usable audio device. Sometimes it detects it differently on a new connection.

Yes, the NVIDIA Control Panel recognizes my TV correctly, and there's no other audio option available apart from the TV.
