My RTX 4070 SUPER Shows Up as a Regular RTX 4070

I recently installed an MSI Ventus 2X RTX 4070 SUPER, but NVIDIA software and Task Manager only identify it as an RTX 4070. This is my first time installing a graphics card, so I'm unsure whether the name is being displayed incorrectly or whether I received the wrong model. How can I verify which card I actually have?

After opening the case, it sounds like the card you received is actually a regular RTX 4070, not the SUPER version you ordered. Take photos of the card and packaging, then contact the retailer to report the incorrect shipment. You shouldn’t need to change any drivers to make a genuine SUPER card appear correctly.

Check the card itself and verify it with a hardware tool such as DirectX Diagnostic Tool or GPU-Z. The exact GPU name, device ID, VRAM amount, and clock specifications should make it clear whether it’s a SUPER model. If the physical card is labeled RTX 4070 rather than RTX 4070 SUPER, contact the seller for a replacement or refund—the software is likely reporting the hardware correctly.
