My Ryzen 5 7600X is Running Hot With Just a Browser Open, What Could Be Wrong?

I've built my first computer over a year ago, and lately, I've been experiencing some issues. Upon starting my computer, I occasionally get a BIOS error about the CPU fan, but the fan is functioning correctly and connected properly, so I haven't worried too much about it. However, I recently noticed that my CPU temperature is sitting between 75°C and 90°C while I only have my web browser and the Core Temp application open. Aside from the thermal paste change (which I'm planning to do once it arrives), what other steps can I take to troubleshoot the cause of this overheating?

It sounds like there might be an issue with how the thermal paste is applied or the mounting pressure of your cooler. The Ryzen 7600X generally shouldn't run this hot under light loads. What cooler are you using, and how's the airflow in your case?

I'm using a Noctua NH-L9a-AM5 chromax.black for cooling, and my case is an ITX Fractal Terra. There's one exhaust fan at the bottom, and the CPU cooler’s fan is pushing air into it.
