I recently installed SwitchResX to try and fix some screen flickering issues, but after adjusting the resolution, my screen turned completely black. It doesn't display anything when I open it, but the laptop still charges and the keyboard seems to work fine. I'm using a MacBook Pro from 2017. What steps can I take to resolve this issue?

Connecting your MacBook to an external screen is a good move. Once you’re connected, try changing the resolution back to something standard. Also, resetting the PRAM/NVRAM could help with the display issue you’re experiencing.
Have you tried resetting the NVRAM? That could help since an unsupported resolution change might have caused this. Check out the instructions from Apple on how to perform the reset. If that doesn't work, there could be an issue with the display assembly or the internal connection.
I was able to uninstall SwitchResX after connecting my MacBook to an external monitor. Unfortunately, my screen still blacks out after logging in. I can only use the laptop when it's connected to an external display.

I tried that too, but once I logged in, the screen went black again. It's frustrating because it only works while connected to an external display.
