I'm trying to decide between two SSDs for my build. I already have the Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2TB and I'm considering adding the Samsung 990 PRO 2TB. My motherboard is a Gigabyte B850 Aorus Elite WiFi7, which has multiple PCIe slots and M.2 slots (including a PCIe 5.0 slot). Do these SSDs work together? Also, what's the main difference between the EVO and PRO models? Is the cache important, and how does it affect performance? I know some things have changed since my last build, so I'd appreciate any insights.

Yes, both SSDs are compatible with your setup! The PRO version indeed has the DRAM cache that helps in speeding up performance for random reads/writes. While it's not strictly necessary, it's a nice feature for an OS drive. The heatsink situation depends on what you're doing; it'd be beneficial for extended read/write sessions at high speeds. Just make sure to monitor temps for long gaming sessions!
Both SSDs will definitely work with your motherboard. The main difference with the PRO model generally relates to its DRAM cache, which is advantageous for better performance in certain tasks. Cache can be important for random writes, especially for an OS drive since it handles many read/writes. Your mobo even has a built-in heatsink which is good for keeping temps down during heavy usage. Thanks for clarifying! I'm focused on gaming, like FS2020, and want the best performance for my setup.

Appreciate the info! Looks like the cache could be a winner for me!
