Hey everyone, I'm about to buy a 7800X3D today but I'm not sure what motherboard to go for. I'm considering options like the Gigabyte B650 UD AX or the MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi, but the ASUS B650E MAX Gaming WiFi with PCIe 5.0 is also intriguing. Also, I'm curious about RAM compatibility – is it crucial, or can I just go with any 6000MHz CL30 RAM? I've seen references to the QVL on motherboard sites and I assume that's the way to check, right?

Yeah, the QVL list on the motherboard site is a good reference to ensure your RAM will work. It's always smart to check it before buying.

But how critical is it really? If everything looks good on paper, shouldn't it generally work out? I mean, I plan to double-check once I've picked a mobo.
