New Laptop’s Sound Isn’t Working, Need Help!

I just got a new laptop and I'm having issues with the sound. After setting it up and doing some updates, I encountered a problem where an audio update wouldn't work. Following some advice, I uninstalled the Realtek audio driver thinking it would reinstall itself after a reboot. However, now I can't get any sound from the laptop. My AirPods connect fine, but the built-in audio won't work at all. I tried downloading the Realtek drivers from the HP support page, but I'm having trouble installing them. I also attempted some legacy hardware solutions and found a reference to Intel audio, but that hasn't helped either. Can someone please provide guidance? The laptop is an HP Laptop 14-ep1185tu with Full HD, 24 GB RAM, and an Intel Core Ultra 5. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure to go to Settings > System > Sound. There, check the 'Choose where to play sound' option and set it to 'Speaker'. If that option isn’t showing up or you still have issues, let me know. Also, ensure the speaker icon next to 'Volume' isn’t crossed out and the volume value is up. Try clicking 'Test' after that—do you hear anything?

Yeah, all my settings look good, but when I click test, there’s no sound.

Have you checked if your output settings are correctly set to the laptop speakers instead of the headphone jack? That can sometimes be the issue.

Yeah, I've set it to Realtek (R) audio.
